is it possable to have a deticated server on vista? I tried the steps for the xp virson but it didn't work can some one help me?

Yes it's possible to run on Vista, what problems showed up?

when I the command hldsupdatetool it just runs the program and does nothing else. As in it just wants me to agree to terms and that kinda stuff.

you should be typing hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source"(whatever game u want) -dir C:\srcds (or wherever u want the server)
you may have to start the cmd window as administrator. If you don't ask it to it will open it without admin priveledges, and a lot of times it won't allow files to be created. Just hit the start menu button, type in cmd, right click the program shortcut and click run as administrator. Then try running the hldsupdatetool and install srcds.
Priveledges on vista can be a pain sometimes.

it does nothing the _dosent blink like ts supposed to when i tipe in the command. and the only window that comes up it the normal install menu for the hldsupdatetool.
