Hi, i have a small dedicated server that is mainly for my friends and I. However, my friend has a brother who likes to play too. Apparently, the same IP cannot connect twice, is there a way to get around this? maybe i can set something up on the server? (I'm a newbie, so please, be gentle) Any help is appreciated, thanks!

As far as I know it should work.. as long as they aren't both trying to use the same steam account.

Like skeletor said, as long as everyone has a different steam account you can connect with thousands from the same IP if you want to.

Well, thank you!

he has to connect on a different port, so in console he does connect yourip -port 27016 (or something like that) go to steampowered.com, but not the forums and click support, then search for 2 people same ip or whatever it will tell you the exact command.

We've had 10 man LAN's where we all go and hop on our public server and rip it up. No port issues. Maybe it depends on the environment.

Yea, i know on my home I have had well over 10 people all jump on a public server and no problems. the only time I ran into a problem a long time ago was when my wife was first playing and she logged into my account (while i was on it) and she tried to connect to the server i was on and it wouldn't let her. it would let her connect to another server though. So I bet they are using the same account.
