Source Mod dedicated server w/ 2 mounted gcf's??
#1
Hey, I'm creating a mod which mounts 320 (css) and 215(sdk base). I am wondering how to set up a dedicated server for testing with it? Also, does anyone know how to compile a server file for linux? Thank you.

All you have to do is copy all the mod files to a folder with the modname in the main SRCDS folder so you have it like this:
SRCDS
|
|-- cstrike
|-- hl2
--- modfolder

and then use the -game <modfoldernamehere> command.

What is the game name abbreviation for sdk base? I need that since my mod mounts gcf 215.

no idea, you'll have to look that up in the actual game tree, should be there.

I believe it should be "sourcetest" (I looked in the gameinfo.txt) However when I do an update using the hldsupdatetool sdk base or sourcetest is not an option. Only released games are, any idea of what I would need to do to get the sdk base content to server admins?

Actually I don't think you need it at all, I just noticed that mods using the SDK Base don't need it server side.

It's pretty logic thinking about it now actually, since SDK Base is a "template" to load the mod into and start it up client side. Servers don't run the actual program, just the files.
