srcds file download error
#1
Hey Guys,
This is my first post here. Actually about 6 months ago I downloaded srcds and was running a perfectly nice server with Mani but then I stopped hosting it and deleted the srcds folder and now I want to set my server back up but whenever i have downloaded quite alot of the files at around 750 MB it get stuck ans stays there.

Right now Im stuck at audio_siren (hl2 sounds). Whenever i restart the downloading it gets stuck again or it disconnects giving me a WinSocket erroe. Can anybody help?

Thx...

I just fought with this issue for about a week, and spent many hours surfing forums. Using 3 computers and trial and error i can verify that if you continue retrying the download/install it will work. I used 2 servers that i monitored when they would fail i would restart the download. They seem to stop at the same points, and after about 4 tries they both finished the download. What the hell... The two servers were connected to 2 separate ISPs. This issue must be a problem from the download source. YOUR command line is correct! I used the instructions from http://www.srcds.com/ that uses the command prompt. This is my command. C:\SRCDS\Update>hldsupdatetool -command update -game "counter-strike source" -dir c:\srcds
wow feels good to be done.

The valve content servers are under a lot of stress lately with the steam community thing and the release of TF2.

Things just are slow at the moment and people with routers will have a lot of connection errors due to this, just keep runnign the updater till srcds.exe appears.
