sv_region suggestions?

I have my servers in Dallas, Texas. What sv_region would you recommend me to make the server appear on the master server list and give better pings to those of the selected region?

Right now I have it on sv_region 1 (East Coast) doesn't seem to be doing very well.

sv_region is just an indication of where your server is. It doesn't change anything in terms of ping.

If you're a perfectionist like me, I fill in everything from sv_region, straight up to the e-mail entry!

If other US players are getting lagspikes, you should check your rates.

The calculation for getting the maximum rate is:

Bandwidth * 128 / Players = maxrate

So if you're on 2Mb, and you want to run an 8 slot server, you would use:

256 (upload speed) * 128 / 8 = 4096

You always take the upload speed, as that's the most important factor. The maximum maxrate is 30000 and the minimum is 0 (unlimited).

What I meant is the region it is so that it displays correctly on most master server list (more people see it, more players in it).

Yep, you can type "sv_region" and get a list. I keep mine in 6, simply because they're hosted in Manchester, UK.

lol well the exact location always gets better results, you might think about what you liek more:
1 more players (mostly noobs that don't check pings) and bad quality (World)
2 maybe a little less players but good quality low ping people (Exact location)
