Running server with no internet connection
#1
Hi, got a srcds running on linux and I want to run it at a LAN with no internet connection.

command to run the server
Code:
./srcds_run -console -game cstrike +ip 192.168.1.51 +maxplayers 24 -tickrate 100 -nomaster -insecure

with the internet connected it works fine, it says it's not contacting the master servers, but without the internet it gets up to executing the config and seems to hang. when i type to the terminal nothing appears, even after i've ^C srcds i can't see what i'm typing. Do I have to wait for a timeout (if so how long will that take?) or is there a command to stop it trying to contact completely?

Also, anyway of getting it to appear in the LAN server browser list? hosting a listen server (on windows) the games appear in the list, but the linux dedicated never does.

sv_lan 1 is set in the server.cfg, and i also did it in the srcds console. still locks up.
turned firewall off in windows, still doesn't show (when srcds IS working).
any other ideas?
i've re-downloaded srcds and made a new cfg after trying to figure this out, but it does the same thing as before.

I mean firewall on the server, the client is always fine.

firewall is off on the server.

tried again without the internet connected. gets to "Master server communication disabled." and sits there, instead of going on to say "VAC secure mode disabled."
commands seem to work, after about 1 minute. cannot see what is being typed either.
connecting takes f******* ages too, but I haven't bothered to see how long it will take, it's stupid. Going to try removing the gateway to see if that works, as i've seen from another thread.

Edit: Removed the gateway and it seems to respond now, but it's an annoying and ugly workaround.
