no worries, it's the general forum everything fits here, linux and windows forums are just there to make it a bit easier to read. So it's fine.

If you are sure you have 1mbps upload you can run 14-16 players on 33 tick.
please look in my guide how to calculate and set your rates, easier for me and more clear for you Smile

Our ISP said that it's a 8/1 Mbit connection (8192 kbps dl, 1024 kbps up) but I can't achieve the full download & upload speed that the ISP offers. I have Windows XP Pro running and I have set the QoS limit reservable bandwidth to 0 %. That increased my network speed with 5 %.

With these settings:
tickrate 33
sv_maxrate 9999
sv_minrate 5000
sv_maxupdaterate 33
sv_minupdaterate 20
slots 12

we are experiencing lag peaks on the server
Any help on that?

What are the best settings for my server?

Now I have these settings:
tickrate 33
sv_minrate 4000
sv_maxrate 5000
sv_minupdaterate 20
sv_maxupdaterate 33

and i get 10-80 choke and only sometimes lag peaks..

EDIT: ah cmon can't you help???

This is not a job, I'm not being paid for helping here, if I was I would be here all day. But I can't do that and I won't be paid anyway. So you'll just have to wait a few hours (unless midnight when I sleep) till I get back to you.

If you're getting choke it means your maxrate is too low, you'll have to lower the amount of players.

running windows media player or srcdsfpsboost.exe (as the second name says) boosts the FPS on the server, this will in no way increase your rates, just more smooth gameplay (if the internet connection is sufficient)

Well I'm running the serverchecker ping booster (value 1).. Is it ok?
And we bought a new ADSL router, because I noticed that the old one didn't support the 'fullrate' standard, what we have now.
Now I get much less choke, and my server doesn't lag so much anymore.

Yeh I guess, I've never used serverchecker so I'm not sure what exactly it does. But in the end, if there's no lag everything is correct Smile
