Server Does not show (not even in LAN)
#1
Question
Ok guys, I am not sure what is causing this,

I know the server settings are fine,

But I think these are system settings. which I need help with...

I have Norton Internet Security 2007, yes yes I know...

anyway I have that and nothing else running my Security, and now, I cannot see my modem (D-Link DSL 504T) on the network in Windows (My Network Places, usually it would appear) so I can't add ports to it through windows either, and I have allowed the ports on my Firewall etc... and on my modem as well...

But when I create a Listen Server, Dedicated Server, it does not matter it just simply does not show...

It says successful connection to Steam Servers, and adding two master servers...

But still nobody can join, and neither can I through LAN, unless I add 127.0.0.0 and even then there is no point because nobody else can join...

PLEASE HELP!

If it's not even showing up at LAN there certainly is a virusscanner or firewall blocking it.
for the portforwarding you should check http://www.portforward.com on exact instructions on how to forward ports,

Trust me, The ports are forwarded, and not even PFConfig works because it does not support a D-Link DSL-504T...

oh I thought you meant the port forwarding didnt work out,
did you try to fully disable the norton program?

also make sure no other firewall is blocking it.

if it still fails try to make a direct connection to the internet and see what happens then, if it works it's the router
