Hi,
I recently set up my CS:S server, which I want to have available to my friends and other players.
I have included sv_lan 0 in my server.cfg file, and I can connect to it fine, but in HLSW it still shows as a LAN server and other people that I have asked to look are getting timeout errors.
Any help would be grateful.
Thanks.

What IP are you giving to your friends?,
Are you behind a router?,
if yes did you forward your ports correctly?
HLSW will keep seeing it as a LAN server when the server is on the same network as HLSW.

1. I am using the STEAM GUI for the console, and I am giving them the IP which it says there.
2. I have a NETGEAR DG834G router.
3. How do I do this?
Cheers.

Ok I have done the port forwarding.
If I add my own IP (From the second link) to HLSW, should I see the in-game details? As of right now it is timed out, but the other IP (from STEAM console) says that one is ok.
Do I connect to a different IP than my friends?

yes you connect to your internal IP, this one is the one SRCDS tells you.
Friends and other people connect to the ip from that website, the external IP.
And yes you should find your server with HLSW on that Ip too.
Double check on gametiger if it's online tho. If it's not online port forwarding isnt done correctly yet.

I followed those instructions, and it is still showing as timeout. Can't find it on gametiger either.
I assigned a static IP address (192.168.0.136), which worked fine, but the IP address from whatsmyip doesn't work at all.

I'm having a similar problem, I have tried to set up a server but my server won't show on gametiger.net and when I check my other computer through CS it won't show up as LAN nor on the server list. This is weird, I have a Belkin router I have set my connection to a static ip and forwarded all ports on the planet half life guide and followed all directions.
