How are you running the server?

With a normal Steam account and installing srcds there or did you download the standalone dedicated server?

Do you have any firewalls? Watch the Windows XP Firewall if thats causing a problem.

What is sv_lan set to?

Is there any messages that look likely to cause the problem?

I had Zone Alarm when i had my server going and it worked then so you should be able to use it ok.

When you have "sv_lan" set to 0 it means it wont be a lan server if its set to 1 its means it will be a lan server...along those lines anyway.

Well there a command to add in to the start up line cant remember what it is just now i'll get for you though, and there is an fps boster program that I have on other pc so i'll upload it on here if i can. Or if some one else noes off hand....
But if you cant get people connected to it atm then is there any point just now? I'm just concentrating on getting people connected to a basic serverr first then add stuff on to it.

I posted it a while ago.

I'm not sure why you are experiencing 2k ping, are you sure NOTHING is blocked?
Try to direct connect the server to the internet (without the router) and see if it works then.
If it works it's something with your router. if it doesnt it's something on your pc or with your ISP.
