ATTENTION!!! To all people that have a server, please read.

Hi there,

I came up with the idea of making a document for errors and stuff that doesn't work with the server (Memory errors, Allocation errors, any error you can find) and what their solutions are.
So I'm asking all of you if you encounter an error would you please make a screenshot of it and post it in this thread. If you found a solution for it please describe what you did to fix it.
So it basicly comes to this:

Error:
1. Describe when the error shows, what did you or the server do?
2. Provide a screenshot of the error

Solution:
1. Explain how to fix, leave empty if you don't know. When you know later on please update.

Thanks for your time and I'm looking forward to some replies (Feel free to share your thoughts about this also but please keep it clean so we don't get a messy topic), PLEASE FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE BELOW!

I'll start by posting one,

Error:
1. When I start up the SRCDS this error appears before it connects to the master servers.
2.
.jpg   entrypointerror.JPG (Size: 11.07 KB / Downloads: 363)
In English: "The procedure entry point SteamFindServersNumServers could not be located in the dynamic link library Steam.dll"

Solution:
1. Shut down steam on the computer where the server is running, the steamclient dll does not have this function. Start up the SRCDS and the error will be gone.

I got the same error What do I do?

discozone, sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough. (I edited the post(s) to make more clear what I want)
The solution is right under the problem... also this thread is not intended to be used as a "I have that error too how to fix?" or "Help me please with this" help topic.
Also next time do a search first before you post, I have seen this error over 20 times within 1 week and answered every sinlge one of them, enough posts with a solution. Don't reply to this unless you have an error!
Nothing personal, just to explain a bit more.

Here's another:

Error:
1. When I start my server up it says "couldn't exec server.cfg"
2.
.jpg   servercfg.JPG (Size: 40.84 KB / Downloads: 273)

Solution:
1. The server.cfg should be located in the cfg folder of the SRCDS, it's not there by default, you have to make one yourself.
2. If it is there and doesn't work: make sure you didn't save it as server.cfg.txt
3. still not working: add +exec server.cfg to the startupline.
4. example and ready to use cfg download here: Click here

This is a great idea!
From now on when my server generates errors I'll contribute.
#6
maybe this should be 'stickied'
#7
Yes, this should be stickied!
Heres an error I've got once:
Couldn't exec server.cfg
I can't exactly remember why it came, cuz I had the server.cfg in the cfg folder and all, but anyway heres what i typed in console (Or maybe I added it to the startup parameters with an "-" in front of it?) :

exec server.cfg

And it worked! :? I don't know why it worked since srcds should automaticly load it... But if anyone gets the same error try it!

Ok, here's another one. Trying to run TF2 server. Error is:
Quote:Loading : srcds.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point SteamUserStats could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll

.jpg   SteamError.jpg (Size: 60.72 KB / Downloads: 160)
Can't find a fix at the moment - it does it after a system restart too. CS:S still works fine.

Try copying your dll files into the orangebox directory. I was getting a similiar error and doing that got rid of it.

Ok, got mine sorted. I deleted all of the stuff in the server folder EXCEPT for the game files - TF, cstrike etc. - and then ran the updater again. Fixed.
