Play and Host Questions
#1
I want to be able to play AND host on the same machine.

I know I can do it but I do not know how to do the proper setup except for ports and router settings.

I have a dual gigabit lan aswell as a dual processor.

I can host the server on one lan connection and one processor and play on the other connection and processor.

Any ideas?

You'll ahve to set affinity to the different processors, so srcds to proc 0 and the game to proc 1
then you'll have to bind the srcds to the ip of the networkconnection the game IS NOT using, thats pretty much it.

But again, hosting and playing should NOT be done on 1 machine, it's called a DEDICATED server, if you want to play at the same machine host a listen server from inside the game. SRCDS + playing at same machine will never be as good as hosting it on a dedicated machine.

Works great on my computer...Dual core Opteron 1212 @ 2.9Ghz. Although, I would only recommend it if you have 1GB+ ram and a good dual core processor.
