MOTD help
#1
Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out how to get my statsmeminimum plugin's "motd_smm.txt" to be displayed as my server's MOTD (Message of the Day). I know there is probably some file that allows you to change the path to be referenced for the motd html code. There is probably a command to accomplish this as well, though i can't put my finger on it.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Thanks in Advance,

in your server config put the following line:

motdfile yourpreferredmotdfile.txt

and if you say you don't have a "yourpreferredmotdfile.txt" file, then you need to turn off your server and back away slowly..... Smile

The answer I gave refers to the command that the thread starter couldnt find. You can enter that to change the motd file to something other than the standard motd.txt located in the cstrike folder of the dedicated server.

You can also use a frame at 100% and load the MOTD page into the frame.. There are multiple ways of getting a different MOTD

You are probably running the steam version right?
install the standalone. (HLDSUpdateTool.exe)

If you dont have it try creating motd.txt in the cstrike or modfolder. You can write a MOTD in HTML language.

HLDSUpdatetool will install the standalone source dedicated server (non steam) which is way better and has more options and alot advantages.

NickBVK,

You can get up and running with the standalone srcds version here:

Just follow the tutorial instructions and you will be set.
