me too. working on it since like monday... but nothin seems to help and im guesing some jerk made a virus and its f-ing with us and we cant do anything about it... ugh this makes me not wanna play cs:s if i cant even make own server...

ok so ive found a little info on this problem... the tier0_s.dll. filw ia located on srcds/bin
umm i open the file with notepad.. and geee guess what it says there? ill post it here..
"This program cannot be run in DOS mode.$"
i have to of these files on my BIN folder. ive removd them. im goin to rstart my server and see what happens. they cant run in DOS..so what the point of havin them right? plus my server runs either way when i clikc on the the error pop up.. oh well wisah me luck

ok NVM the server does not start up when i remove those files :/ ok now what? anyone else got ideas?

for the IsLogActive error thing, the solution i found for this is to close Steam on the computer that is running the server. i had the same error on my comp, then i closed steam, ran the server, and no error ^^

I think having steam running at the machine where the dedicated server is running on is dumb anyway.
You don't need steam for the SRCDS..

you do need steam to play tho..i only got one computer. you should check out my server some time let me kow how it runs for it being used in a computer that i also play on

you should try to get a second machine, it doesnt need that high specs (dependign on the server size ofcourse)
playing and running servers at the same machine is reall not going to work.. source games always seem to use 100% CPU Server needs CPU power.

that is most likely the source of ur lag dub. Running ur server and playing on it. (if thats what youre doing).
also i fixed my problem, and as an answer to ur lag quesiton, i havent noticed any dropoff/improvement in my fps considering i had a problem inhibiting myself from playing anyways. was runnin with 10 people yesterday, no problems. i could test your theory by makig that error appear and see what happens on my server

yeah ive been meaning to dedicate this current computer solely tot he server.. hmm i have an old computer around that might bhe able to play scoutzknivez on it with decent FPS...but dam i got a router and everythin all i need is ONE extra ethernet cord whic i dont have :/ thats whats hodl me back really... :/

buy a network card plug it into one of your PC's from there link it to the server machine
so like:
router->pc->server
make sure you make a networkbridge between the 2 connections in the configurationscreen
