Server Unreachable from Public

I was running a server not long ago and it decided to crap out on me.  I've taken the steps to reinstall srcds into a different location on my server and use a plain vanilla config.  still no dice.

I have the following ports being forwarded from my firewall:

UDP
1200
27000-27020

TCP
27015
27030-27039

I have currently a 100Mbit connection to my network.  Dedicated hardware, IP, all the good stuff a network engineer gets for free while at work.

The server is NATed through my SonicWALL to the LAN IP of my DS.  Mind you this worked a few weeks ago as nothing has changed.  The server is reachable ONLY from the LAN.  I have my sv_lan set to zero.

Any ideas?  I have tried from multiple accounts and locations to test this.

If you DMZ the server can you connect to it?
Does your server establish a connection to the VAC servers and do you get added to the master server list (all in your console)

Well I could DMZ it but it would be the same as it is now.  Only difference is that I would have to make rules to allow me to access it from the trusted LAN zone.  Too much work.

I do get VAC secured and do get connected to two servers.  I do not know if i get listed.  I haven't seen my server listed in the master lists.  My server's name is "Refi Dedicated".

Perform Advanced Scan (#2) on ports 25000-27500
Screen shot and post the results.

STEAM Master Server List - NOT WORKING?

Just an FYI...

You can't use Xfire or STEAM to test the server if the server and the Test PC are on the same internal network. If you do, you will see the Server will appear in your Lan Games list, but not in the Internet Games list. That's normal. Don't just assume it's not showing in the STEAM list outside from this. It very well may still be working and you just don't know it.

Use this link to test it:

http://www.gametiger.net/search?address=

MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR EXTERNAL IP ADDRESS AND NOT THE INTERNAL ONE LIKE 192.168.....

If it shows up here, you're good to go and it's in STEAM's List and available via Xfire.

Also, You should wait at least 10 minutes between tests for the Gametiger list to show your server. It takes that long some times for it to come through after you make changes and restart your Server.

I wasted 3 days on this same problem and found it was working all the time but couldn't see it at my house. Sounds stupid, but it's true.

Good luck!

you know, im having a similar problem with my server here. Im behind a SonicWALL firewall with all the port ranges apropriately mapped, ping enabled, responds just like any other firewall should with the right configuration to run the server. But it still never lists publically? I think the sonicwall firewalls have trouble with udp.

Earlier this year the server was working fine for me also... then I just started playin' recently..... I'm on directly to the 10MB down/ 5MB up.... it says it's on the master server list..... VAC Secured... but no one can get on the server.... and it's on port 27666.. I updated.. started everything from scratch... but the same problem...

Make sure you have your region setting in cstrike/cfg/server.cfg correct. In other words, which people you want to see it. Below is the list. I use sv_region 255 personally, but that's up to you.

Eastcoast US - sv_region 0
Westcoast US- sv_region 1
South america - sv_region 2
Europe - sv_region 3
Asia - sv_region 4
Australia - sv_region 5
Middle East - sv_region 6
Africa - sv_region 7
World (All Lists) - sv_region 255

Make sure you check your server via this link:

http://www.gametiger.net/search?address=

This is the only way to be sure it's working without looking everywhere in other lists. Wait at least 10 minutes after starting your server before testing it as it sometimes takes a while to show up in the list.

Good Luck!

Have yu set the port to 27015 in the server's start up line? If not, try that and see.
