SRCDS Steam group


lil problem

i finished installing srcds and i have this lil problem no one can join my server i port forwaded and everything is ok when i open a server using source dedicated server by steam anyone can join but srcds no one can...

i had a problem like this, theres a command somthing like sv_lan 0 i think might be it.

Try in console by typing sv_lan 0, If people can join after that add it to your server.cfg in the srcds directory and your done. If its not the problem i have no idea, sry Smile

Avoid using the Steam version at all cost, it brings all the bad stuff you can possibly get...

I always suggest to install the standalone (Tutorials enough on these forums) but it's your choice ofcourse Smile

I prefer steam version but thats my opinion, its allmost the same. Steam version is just smaller lag if your playing on same cpu at same time, both are good Smile

They aren't quite the same actually, the steam version is known to have more bugs, uses more resources and isn't quite as configurable as the normal "standalone". I seriously doubt it will decrease lag on when you play on the same machine, you shouldn't play and run a dedicated server on the same machine anyway actually. Just run a listen server in this case.
console version runs alot smoother than the GUI versions.
