sv_downloadurl and ftp login

Just curious if this is at all possible:

sv_downloadurl "ftp://username:password@blah.com"

Can I use ftp with a username and password for sv_downloadurl?

If not, I can connect to my http site, http://flanga.clans.net, but it says that I can't view it b/c of webdav not being enabled. Worst possible case scenario, can I use http even though webdav is off?

Hey as far as i no Ftp is not possible with sv_downloadurl only Http://

So wait... the http for http://flanga.clans.net that gives a 403 error will still work for downloading maps or no? If I specify where the map is in the url bar it can still download it. Am I right to assume this?

as long as the file permissions are set correct they should download correct
I think that 403 is because you may not browse the index of that folder

and it cnt be http://flanga.clans.net it has to be http://flanga.clans.net/cstrike

and http://flanga.clans.net/cstrike/maps for maps
and http://flanga.clans.net/cstrike/sounds for sounds and so on has to same place as they are on your server!

It doesnt have to be for each folder, just the main folder http://flanga.clans.net/cstrike
The rest is automatic as long as the structure is the same as the SRCDS on the server machine.

Out of curiosity, the only way for me to tell if it is actually working, (downloading from an external url) is by seeing if its faster than usual?

Normally when sv_downloadurl is being uses the downloads are not messed up in order, like a loading bar for every file.
When you use sv_downloadurl all the files are downloaded in 1 loading bar which gives way better looks and how much time it needs.
I think that's the biggest difference to tell if it's working or not other than the speed
