SCRDS Won't open?
#1
Hello, how the hell you get scrds working? I run a Dedicated CS:S server via team, tools - But i've heard that using srcds is much better! When i try to open srcds.exe its give me this error something about "Failed to launch the launcher DLL" - if you know what to do, please post it!

Thanks Bonsai Hero

Your dedicated CS:S server is the same as SRCDS.

To install a standalone SRCDS(which is MUCH better than the steam version) please read the tutorial in the tutorials section Smile

in run you type in "cmd" that will open a cmd window. you need to create a folder in C:\ called srcds. for the rest, to quote cryotek again..

cryotek Wrote:This is what I would do:

grab the hldsupdatetool from http://steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow

create c:\srcds

Now, i've never done this in windows but i assume it'll be the same as linux, run hldsupdatetool from the cmd.exe (start button -> run cmd.exe click run) with the following options:
Code:
hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game "counter-strike source" -dir c:\srcds -verify_all

first of all the cmd to change directory is CD, so you would want to first type in "cd C:\srcds" then with the hldsupdatetool in the srcds folder you would type in "hldsupdatetool"
