in your server startup line put this:

+tickrate NUMBER
+tick

replace the NUMBER with one of these (these are the best ones to use)
100
66
33  (default)

what exactly does server fps mean?

if i do stats on one of my servers it says 0 fps, but the game itself if u log in and play (10 ppl were on at the time) was absolutly fine and i asked ppl and they said it was fine too.

Same with a cs server i run, tick 100 - 12 ppl on it and 'stats' gives server fps of 15 but go on the server and everything is fine, everyone running smooth.

so what exactly does server fps have a relation to if it can be 0 and still have a game running fine lol.

Lol I doubt you ever seen a 200 tickrate server. 100 Tick is the hardcoded max, you might have seen it after a lag spike or so but there's no server running constant tick above 100 (+-1)

Server FPS is Frames Per Second. The more frames per second the smoother the server runs. FPS on servers is detemined by CPU and not by a graphic accelerator.

FPS limits the tickrate directly, if you run a 100 tick server and the FPS of that server is 60, the tickrate will "drop" to 60 while it has been configured to use 100. Also if you have 0 FPS, tickrate will drop to 0, updates ingame will drop to 0, causing major lag and you cant play.

but thats exactly my point, it doesn't seem to do anything

right now if i check the server fps on one of my goldeneye:source servers it says 0, yet u log in and play and the game is fine

i guess i have to assume thats a bug because if 0 really means 0 tickrate then the server surely would not work at all - yet it works fine.

Just look at the updates you are getting while playing, if it's a 100 tick server and you're getting 100 tick it means the server FPS is atleast 100. So most definatly a bug.
