srcds Config Questions

Hi,

A few questions if I may about setting up a srcds server:

1) I want to make a round last indefinitely, is there a way to do that? (mp_roundtime is documented as being from 1-15 minutes although I can only get it to go as high as 9 and setting it to 0 makes it go to 1).

2) In the motd.txt file how do I refer to image files?
<img src="banner.gif"> does not work (banner.gif is in the same dir as the motd.txt file). Textual/HTML mods work fine.

3) Currently I'm running srcds under MS-Windows XP. I would like to set it up to run under Linux. I currently use the metamod, cssdm, goremod and jetpack mods. However apart from metamod, there is no mention of Linux. Are the other mods somehow OS independent or is it that Linux is largely unsupported mod wise? PS (source code is not included with some of the above mods).

1) I don't think it's possible to make it unlimited cfg wise. You would need a plugin that changes it. Altho I do not know any plugin that does this.

2) You have to host the image on a website and enter the url into the MOTD.txt Example: <img src="http://mywebsite.com/banner.gif">

3) Most plugins have Linux versions too but this is different for every plugin, my plugin for example only supports windows. I think CSSDM and Goremod should have Linux versions but I'm not sure. It depends on what the maker of the plugin did.

Wow that's fast :-) Many thanks on points 1 + 2. I won't worry about the round time - it's only a nice to have.

As for 3) I looked on each web site for each plugin and there didn't seem to be any reference to Linux.

Ok I just did a quick search:

CSSDM is also for linux, the .so are linux files. so CSSDM just put everything in one package.

Goremod also has all files in one package just extract it and it should work on Linux just like CSSDM.

And guess what, took some time to find the correct jetpack plugin but it also has everything in one package.

If you are going to run cssdm, you'll need stripper: source which you can find here: http://www.bailopan.net/stripper

You'll need to strip out the objectives like the bomb and hostages. You can also strip out the physics props for an even smoother server =]
