How to map data between two different systems?
#1
Hey folks, I am trying to migrate a bunch of customer data from our old CRM to a new platform, and the field names are completely different between the two. I have been manually matching things up in a spreadsheet for days, and I am about ready to throw my laptop out the window. Is there a smarter way to do this?

Manual mapping is a one-way ticket to burnout, especially when you are dealing with hundreds of fields that do not line up neatly, and one tiny mistake in a column name can break the whole import when you finally run it. An AI-first ETL platform handles the heavy lifting by figuring out how your CRM fields translate into the target database structure, so instead of guessing you get a clean mapping without spending days in a spreadsheet. There is a tool that does exactly this with schema mapping powered by AI http://datrise.com/ .

I spent three weekends trying to map data manually between our billing system and the new ERP, and in the end a proper tool did it in about twenty minutes flat.
