Couldnt seem to get the search feature to work on the forums but I browsed and browsed for a thread pertaining to this and couldnt find one. Was wondering if there was any way to log into steam through offline mode so I can actually get a sever started. When I begin to run the server, the last line I recieve is "Could not establish connection to Steam servers". It just sits there and sits there. Using another computer, I cant see the server actually starting. I can attempt to connect to the server using direct IP but the server automatically boots me for not being able to verify my ID.
Anyone else having this trouble?

You cannot log into steam when in offline mode, you have to be online to log in. (I can't use my pass IRL without the machine being there right?)
Verifying the ID is probably because a port is blocked. Could not establish connection to steam servers means that port is blocked also. Adding sv_lan 1 to the config will run the server in offline mode, you don't have to verify your ID then. THis means it will be a LAN only server tho

ok now the last line I read is "Section [Scenes]: 0 resources total 0 bytes, 0.00 % of limit (2.10 MB)"
Sorry. I didnt clarify enough. I'm trying to run this server offline with no internet connection.

I believe the only real way to run it offline is to pull out the internet cable, I've tried several times but each time it will try to connect to STEAM.
Also that last line is just a log about resources, I have no idea why they put it in there, it seems it's not doing anything, it always tells the same stuff... it should always show on level load (atleast that's what I noticed)

thats the funny thing. I do have the internet cable pulled. ill wait ten minutes and still nothing happens. I now can direct connect using the ip but it still dosent show up under the lan list and when I connect, nothing happens but the boring loading screen.

do you complete the loading or does it seem to hang on loading client info? If this is the case, this takes loooong on LAN mode.
