Should I buy lightly used?
#1
Hi everyone, new to these cars but have convinced myself I want one and have found my perfect spec on a lightly used example.

FYI I want a Green Hakone Ed.

The car is a 2025 with a couple thousand miles. I did plan on a new one but this came up.

My hesitation is that I was planning to buy new and break in the engine very carefully - I'm getting that these engines require some care and attention to remain healthy - and of course as this one has been owned for so short a period that it may have been abused.
One also worries a little when a car was traded in so soon.

I would love to hear some opinions regarding how much of a deal breaker that may or may not be for you good folks!

I bought mine used with under 4k miles, and it’s been solid—no regrets so far. If credit’s a concern, I had some issues too and checked out bad credit car dealers Las Vegas had to offer. A couple of them were actually helpful with approvals and didn’t jack up the price too much. Might be worth at least checking inventory without committing right away.

Car discussions online tend to sound simple until real decisions appear. A late-night breakdown forced quick thinking about reliability, sourcing, and long-term costs rather than brand pride. Research moved fast, jumping between specs, import rules, and real ownership stories. Feedback connected to be forward fit naturally into that search, because examples from other drivers made options clearer. The takeaway centered on patience and data, not impulse. Careful comparison reduced stress and avoided repeating mistakes others already shared.
