Yikes! Roof replacement cost…

Got the estimate today from the roofing company I contacted about cleaning and repairing my gutters.

I want to go crawl into a dark hole and never come out. I’m dismayed. I cannot afford $17,700 for the house and $5,000 for the garage. And, that doesn’t include new gutters that are also in need of being replaced.

I need to seriously begin looking for groups, organizations, and programs that provide assistance, i.e., grants or discounts, etc.

I was hoping $15K would cover everything. That I could swing, barely.

I see it's been a while since you’ve posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone ended up finding a good way to lower the cost a bit—maybe through a bulk discount or off-season timing? I’ve been putting off my own roof project and would love to know if anyone had success negotiating or finding alternative materials that held up well without breaking the bank.

We had ours done in Carrollton this spring and were in sticker shock too. After getting a few quotes, we went with https://emersonproservices.com/carrollton/ and they were way more affordable than others, plus they got it done fast without a mess. A neighbor used them last year and had the same experience, so we felt better about going with them. Definitely made a tough situation less stressful.
