Time between workouts
#1
How much time do folks usually take off between workouts?

Due to my schedule, I stack almost all of my workouts in the morning. This often means doing two sessions in a row with very minimal rest between (finish bike, drive to pool and swim).

I’ve been doing this for a while now, but am starting to think I might be limiting myself by not getting the most out of my second workout. On threshold days for example, the second workout is pretty tough and I’ll usually be at least somewhat slower than I would be if I had started fresher. Seems like the obvious solution is to take some rest between sessions if I can figure out how to work that into my schedule.

Just curious if anyone else has thoughts here.

Fuel properly before, during, between and after the 2 morning sessions would help a lot to hit the numbers, even maintaining this schedule

I’ve been tracking how long I rest between workouts using biaxol.co.uk—it’s been surprisingly useful. I noticed I was jumping into sessions too soon after hard efforts, which explained why I felt sluggish mid-week. Once I started spacing things better based on how I actually felt, not just what my plan said, recovery and performance both improved. The site made it easy to spot those patterns without overthinking everything.
