SRCDS Steam group


linux server started; cant connect to it

I recently started my server after installing. I have setup static for my server and I made that local IP the dmz so port forwarding can't be the issue. I cannot connect to it from a lan or from wan. It starts up and says it connects to master servers and says VAC secure mode is activated.

I would think the server is running because it says round_start a few lines up.

VAC secure mode activated is last line that reads.

does sv_region have to set to a certain region for it to be connected to?

I am running SuSe 10.0

./srcds_run -console -game cstrike +map de_dust +port 27015 +maxplayers 8 -autoupdate

this is my command (I have also tried it with +ip 192.168.1.108 and no workie)

anyone have any ideas?

thats what happpens and i cannot connect from a lan computer or from the wan

I have no idea what is going on

Try adding -ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to your start up line.

Get the IP from here: http://www.whatismyip.com

My server is running now. Apparently my version of SuSe had a software firewall running and I turned it off.

Works great.

You dont ever have to put an ip in your run command by the way.
