Problem with running on the same machine is that the CS:Source client uses 100% CPU since an update (Don't know which one, I noticed playing at my friends pc, he had processor monitoring at his keyboard, it was at 100% all time, he has 3.2Ghz). This will take away any CPU power from the SRCDS pointing it all to the game.

Don't know why they made it like that but it's real bad. First it was possible but now.. You might get better results if you set the SRCDS priority to high.

But I just can't say it enough times, running servers and games on the same workstation just doesn't work. It can but, mostly it doesn't.

Explanation of choke in this occasion:
Your processor doesn't look at the SRCDS, only short times it "pulls" away CPU power from the client running. This results in slow updating, packets get send and recieved in updates. This resulting into packets waiting in line to be processed by the server, which is choke.

Sorry that I missed the same pc question ^_^

forgot put 1 thing about mine cpu in the beganing it has hyper threading. my cpu is meant for this type of stuff, I had it modified.

mine CPU usage doesn't run at 100%. play css and the server on the same machine says 35%-45% CPU. it doesn't go any higher and I did set the priority to high.

I think there's still bugs in the commad prompt version of the server cause I can run 5 servers of any other game and play on them at the same time and those servers don't give problems like this.

Well only other thing i can think of is not enough memory...

It's either bandwidth, bad rates, CPU or Memory

I mean bandwidth in kbps Toungue like you stated was 1.5mbps?

are you sure it's not fully used?

It's either of thos I stated in the post before, choke just doesnt come out of nothing, there is a limiting factor somewhere, you just gotta find it.
