is there a file called server.cfg present in <mod>\cfg\ folder?

if not make a txt file save as server.cfg (make sure it does NOT save as server.cfg.txt) and go to the server cfg resource thread on these forums. ( http://forums.srcds.com/showthread.php?tid=10 )

then restart your SRCDS and it will work

EDIT: little typo, oopsie

yes hello i got mani admin working on my computer for a dedicated source server it works fine but i want to run it on another pc in my house so the computer powersupply doesn't burn out.i downloaded the dedicated server and hlds tool on the new computer i then copied and pasted my cstrike folder with the mani mod to the other computer using an external hardrive but it will not read the cfg files that are edited with note pad instead it reads them as microsoft works worddocuments it will not reconize the cfg files from my other computer. i tried reopening them with notepad and saving them as cfg files but no good the computer is a hp thats has microsoft home edition version 2002 service pact 2 my question is how do i make cfg files on that computer it refues to read it i tried saving it with cfg extension i tried the copy and paste method it still doesn't recognize that type of file is there some kind of converter i need for this

You have to open them in notepad and instead of "save as: .TXT" in the dropdown menu select "all Files".

Also you can see the "real" extensions opening my computer go to extra (it is extra on my dutch one, dont know if it's different in english, it's the on left from Help in the bar) then select folder options. Now a new window will pop up, go to the second tab and deselect something like "Hide known file-extensions"

This is your answer, had this once a while ago, couldn't find the answer until I used a server.cfg from another server on the same machine that did work.
