hexitnow Wrote:No this isnt in the router. This is in the modem. Usually the ip to your modem is 192.168.0.1, then go to status ( could be somethin close to that ), then DHCP user list. It will be somethin along those lines.

Well I tried 192.168.0.1 and I got "The server at 192.168.0.1 is taking too long to respond."

Does my modem need to be on standby or something? I maybe can't see other sites, but it could help connect to the modem.

Getting into the modem should be the last thing I need to do (if not, then dear God help me). Does anybody know a way I can find the IP to my modem so I can connect through my browser (or if not browser.. how?).

Look at the manufacturer's web site.

please go to ww.portforward.com, as soon as you get there it will show you your external ip , then select your router and configure the ports, and walla

Umm... I already did that. I'm talking about the MODEM, not the ROUTER.

This is what I'm doing:
hexitnow Wrote:First off your not gonna see your own server in the master list with the befsr4l. The router i have. Acutally most routers will not let u see your own server in the master list. The reason why your friends cant connect is the forwarding. I'm assuming you already have the necessary ports forwarded in the router, for your PC. Your problem is you dont have the ports forwarded in the modem also. The router knows where to send the info but your modem doesnt.
First off you need to go into the DHCP server listing in your modem configuration page.
Match your routers MAC addy's and write down the routers ip address. (not the ip given in rotuer config. page)
Now forward the ports for your routers ip address. Restart and test server.

And J. Christy, I'll get right on that, thanks.

If your talking about the modem then why create a post titled Linksys Befsr41, that is a router. If you still need the ip of your modem then go to the website like J. said. If that dont worn then you can figure it out with ipconfig. Run that and post back results.

Let me get this strait. Your modem connects to your router, then the router to the rest of the LAN. If so, your modem is using PPPOA and there for your router has all the connection settings for your modem and your modem auto fowards every thing to your router. I.e. the router uses the modem to connect to the internet and the modem is just a slave.

But yeah i have the same problem, but diffrent setup. :'(
But i get an error "Bad querey from XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" ill get ip address when i get home.

lol a router is a modem and switch built into one machine, called the router.

router without modem is called a switch and a router without a switch is a modem..

btw lodle that bad query is nothing bad.. I have it all the time on my server, it doesnt actually do anything. Just report a bad query from someone OUTSIDE the game
