Hi everyone, it's been some tim,e i havent been around here.
I had a full server format, it stands at my house.
Now i got a SRCDS problem!
It wont start up. I just click at the srcds icon in my install folder and my server thinks 1 sec and then does nothing, no messages, no server, no crash report. It just doesnt start up at all.
I tried both console and with the gui but none seem to work...
Suggestions anyone?

Since an update awhile ago (atleast a month I think) you are no longer able to just double click the srcds.exe icon to start srcds in gui mode, you must atleast create a shortcut and add "-game cstrike" (or your respective game) to the target.
What cmd line where you using to start srcds in console mode?

my current cmd line is:
srcds.exe -console -tickrate 100 -autoupdate -game "Counter-Strike Source" +hostname DracoServ +ip 81.204.62.207 +hostport 27015 +maxplayers 16 +map de_dust2
It has always been like this before my server cleanup without the autoupdate command.. never had problems with it
when I make a simple one it doesnt work either, I dont know whats wrong, really. I also submitted a support case to the Dedicated server team, hope to get a reaction soon.
And i think this is because of the update, tho I only noticed it now when I started to test my new plugin. My server has been offline for like 1,5 months at least because I didnt need it.

try that  autoupdate is a dead cmd for windows servers, and the game line is just cstrike, not counter strike source.
and its just port, not hostpost.

ok the problem was the cstrike instead of counter-strike source
thanks for telling me that, i pretty much tried every friggin command line combination there was... only with counter-strike source as game lol >.<
and it's hostport, if you put in port it gives an "unknow command" error

hmm.. oh well. atleast its workin now for ya! yea putting counter strike source as the game is a pretty common mistake, since thats what you have to use to download the game, most think its what you need to start the game as well, lol.

Thats the weird thing about it you know,
When I started dedicated Source servers, I read a tutorial which actually said i had to put Counter-Strike Source in the command line.
It has always worked for me since that time, I still have the shortcut backed up at my pc. Just after the update it quit...

From what I understood, using counter-strike source as the game to start srcds never worked.. Atleast it never did for me, oh well, lol.

Same thing happened to me.
I've set been planing to set up a dedicated server. I got scrds by following through all the commands and such. I click on it, and nothing happens.>  My directory is C:\HLServer\Orangebox\srcds.exe -game garrysmod. Why will it not start? Do I need to add All the other server information?

also try adding -console to yourrr line then run it once then remove shuld work
