People have to connect to your internet ip address.

If u don't know it, there is a simple way :

http://www.whatismyip.com/

will show it.

If they cannot find my server regardless, that cant get on it. THe problem is, there is some sort of problem restricting my ip or firewall from being able to let other users join besides me. That's the problem, not that they can find it Wink

Are you using your internal ip?

Right first get a static IP... I assume you already have but if not Look for forums about static IP. Then go to http://www.portforward.com select your router and select counter-strike... Go to http:/192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1 (whatever web adress is your router) and follow portforwards instructions. once you've done that, you need to configure your firewall to open the ports (if it doesn't give you an option for eg. ZoneAlarm, you need to allow all grecieiving and transmitting DNS and allow people to acess your ports.) After that go to http://www.dnsstuff.com:8080/tools/aboutyou.ch to find out your external ip (should be 81.xxx.xxx.xx) and you put at the top of your server.cfg.

//server.cfg
IP 81.xxx.xxx.xx //Your external IP
Port 27015//Opens up port 27015

Then you connect via your LAN games while everyone else connects via WAN (External IP) so you give them the IP 81.xxx.xxx.xx:27015. I hope this helps

//server.cfg
IP 81.xxx.xxx.xx //Your external IP

i tried that and when it was ecicutng server.cfg it said that port was an unknown command and that it couldn't establish connect to steam servers

WEll delete the line port 27015...

You do know the x's have to be filled in with your Ip for example this is mine

if you don't know your external IP click this link http://www.dnsstuff.com:8080/tools/aboutyou.ch

//server.cfg
IP 81.108.194.81

For your other question you need to open up zone alarm go to firewall
make sure the "internet security" is on medium not high (trusted zone should also be on medium) then click advanced on the firewall tab (underneath trusted zone security box check;

Allow uncommon protocols at high security.
Allow outgoing DNS/DCHP In trusted zone on high security.
Allow outgoing DNS/DCHP In internet zone on high securty.
Disable windows firewall.
Filter IP traffic over 1394.

There that should be ok. If you're still stuck I'll post screenshots...

Allright I kinda have the same problem. I got my server up and all that crap got my ports forwarded correctly. My friend that is not through a router can join, but my friend that is through a router can not join and im confused why not. I tried to put that stuff in my server.cfg file but, i get some dedicated UDP error. Can some one please help me. I am so confused.
