only you know cause it's your router?....

look at the manual or the box or something.

do you need to change the ports on the main pc as in like my dads pc has the router hooked up to it do i have to change the ports thrue his pc or can i just use mine and do it

there shouldnt even be a router behind a PC, I think you have a switch, not a router.
In this case you have to forward the ports on the PC of your dad.

Best thing to do, if you're allowed to, is to host the sevrer on the main PC, you don't have to forward anything that way.

Ok, thanks for the tutorial, but which IP should I put as the param of +ip? The external or internal?

Always the internal IP, if you use the external you will get an UDP port allocation error.

Really though you shouldn't have to set that. It will automatically take the ip of the system. The only reason why you really need to set the ip is if you have multiple ips to the same system and you want to set the server to a specific one.
