Hello all,
So i was just wondering if anyone knows if their will be dedicated server software for COD Modern Warfare 3, so that we can host servers for the game, For Linux....
If anyone does know, where exactly do you get it?

I wonder about this too. I believe it's going to be trough the hldsupdatetool, or idk..

hlds updatetool is Valve, you won't get MW3 there for sure.
As I understand games like MW3, BF3, will never let you have your own server because you will be able to manipulate ranks - not something companies want to let you do.
This results in only option - you can rent gameserver from their trusted retailer and with minimum customization - I know it sucks, I wish there was dedi for those games, I would definitely host em.

but they did mention something about MW3 dedicated server available to the public

MW3 will have dedicated servers, for downloading as CoD4.

You can download it via hldsupdatetool, however it's Windows-Only for now.

I think it will have it, but not before a few weeks after release, i bet they do it the same as with CoD4, release a "patch" for Linux-servers.

hldsupdater offer lots of other things then just SRCDS games.
hldsupdater is just a download tool, Killing floor for once is a Unreal Game.

There's ranked and unranked server. I think you need to be trusted by the companies to host a ranked server.
