dedicated server pricing
#1
what would you guys consider a "fair" pricing model for dedicated servers?

something along the lines of cost of colo + 1/12* server price, this would pay off your server in one year?

Also curious, what would something along these specs be expected to cost?

Two Quad-Core Intel Xeon L5420 2.5GHz
8GB Registered PC2-5300 ECC
1 x 500GB 7200rpm SATA

Thanks for your time and insight,

Depends at which location you are looking at. Cheap internet, or Internap? Quality is not cheap.

From experience I wouldn't recommend doing business with that facility.

Internap is not even close to quality anymore. I'd rather pull off a lease on a FCP platform and get nLayer + Globalcrossing mix, and fcp that.

Internap took off all their peering's and just added cogent, and are currently relying on low performance tier2's
