Ip problem
#1
I'm running an Ubuntu Server 10.10 and having trouble that friends can´t join my server via the friends list, they get my internal ip assigned to them, Iḿ out on the external IP and playing. If I send them my IP or if they find the server when they search for it on the Internet they can join. It worked before so I have no idea why it ain´t doing that now. Any solution?

If the server in on your internal network then others can NOT join via friends list. There is no way around this.

The server is on my local network, but I have opend a port for it and I can connect to it on my external ip (I can se it on the internet and connect to it) Before all the updates my friends were able to join me through friends but they ain´t anymore becouse they will only se my lan ip neither I´m on my WAN or my LAN, they can still joina me if I give them my wan ip or if they find it on the internet. So my conclusion is that this problem must have come with some update Big Grin I know other servers with the same problem, is there a workaround for this problem. what shall I do ?

Hmm might be similar to the issue im having. Look at this, and see if they get the same thing with wrong IPs if they try connect from the friends list (see image in post)

Wrong?
You just have to configure the nat-loopback settings in your router and connect via external ip. Works perfectly fine this way.

It´s close to my problem Big Grin I don´t have problem with VAC only whit the IP. When I join my server on internet and inviting people my friends can´t join me from the friendslist becouse the server will give them my servers local ip address: 192.168.0.180:27018 Sad
I´m using the WAN IP and I have always done and this worked before all updates from valve. I read on steams forum that this is a bug either on the client or server, they also said that only valve could fix it maybe it´s true I hope not. Do any of you have a solution ?

Use -ip 0.0.0.0 that fix the problem
