cant see game in internet tab
#1
Question
I can add my server to favorites and connect that way and so can my friends on another network, and I see it on the lan, but i can't see it in the Internet tab in Team Fortress 2. I have seen several threads with this same topic but I have yet to find a resolution. I noticed some unknown commands but I'm not sure where those are being executed from. also i have heard that because the server its in the the same lan as me that i can only see the server in the lan tab even if it's in the internet tab, is this true. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

If it appears on the LAN tab for you, you will not see it in the internet tab. Instead, send your friends your IP (http://www.ipchicken.com) and ask them to connect. If they can, your fine.

It Can be listed and pinged in the internet tab
also connectable using your external ip and port on your lan

it only happens for me using linksys wag54g v2 router
and port forwared
if the ports are'nt forwarded it won't be scanned using external ip
other routers i tried zhone , tp-link , speedtouch
none of them can scan the external ip and port

to the creator
as long as you can see it in the lan tab you are fine it should'nt
always be listed in internet or connectable using external ip:port

try to register in gametracker website and add it from there
one more important thing
don't use both dmz and single / group port forwarding to the same internal ip
it causes interfere

Most routers will do a loop back for your own IP but really their is no point. Just connect through the lan one and if your friends can connect it should be fine.

@a7m1 Stop going to new lines. We have punctuation for a reason.
