CSS Server don't get more than 64 FPS
#1
Hi,

I've a problem with the low-FPS of my CSS Server. It runs on my Root-Server: http://www.hetzner.de/de/hosting/produkte_rootserver/eq4/ OS: Windows Server 2008 Web Edition (64 Bit)

My CSS Server starts with: -console -game cstrike -port 21800 -nocrashdialog -autoupdate -fps_max 0 +maxplayers 14 +map de_dust2

But ths Server has only 64 FPS max. and I don't get more what ever I do! I tried to run Win Media Player and testet some FPS Boosts. But nothing worked. Only 64 FPS. But on my PC (what isn't really good with 2GB RAM and an AMD Dual Core Processor @ 300 GHz OS: Win XP SP3 32 Bit) I've stable 300 FPS.

So I think on my Root Server I must have 1000FPS!

Anybody knows about this problem? Have I to install any Feature of Server 2008?

Pls Help!!! thx

Oh my god in the german Forums they said me to ask in this Forum (srcds.com). Because they didn't know how to solve this problem. So what do you want from me Terrorkarotte ?

So if anybody has a idea to make more FPS I'd be very thankfull.

Compile this C code:

Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <windows.h>

int main(void)
{
timeBeginPeriod(1);
printf("Press any key to restore normal timer frequency.\n");
getchar();
timeEndPeriod(1);
return 0;
}
I tested it and it works.
And change
Code:
-fps_max 0
to
Code:
+fps_max 1000

Although i honestly didn't notice a difference in speed.

Attached file is the same as above in case you didn't want to go digging Toungue

Simply extract the files and run the install this will install the service to your computer so that it will run automatically at boot etc and will allow for the max FPS supported for your Windows version.

Attached Files
.zip   timer.zip (Size: 5.23 KB / Downloads: 209)

nice bump on 2 year old topic. you have to either increase the tick rate manually using disassemblers or by removing the fps cap by using a disassembler. searching this forum would yield tutorials on how to do both
