CS:S Dedicated Server cannot connect

Well, i wouldnt really run a server and client on the same machine, but you could for example, run the server in a virtual machine (performance might get worse)

you mean sth like Vmware... It would be MUCH WORSE!!! i would use double resources and server would lag definitely!!! I have a laptop and i can run the server from there, but it's Wireless connected (=LOSS) and it has worse hardware than my pc does!!! Why does Valve have to do such bullshit? Before i could run server and client (I know it isn't the best solution) in the same pc with no connectivity problems...

Laptop Hardware:
CPU : Intel Celeron 550 2.0GHz
Ram : 1GB
Internet Downstream: ~ 7000 kbps
Upstream : ~ 900 kbps

Would It be OK to run it in the laptop?????

Your laptop is fine for your needs Smile. You can just cable it to your router

It depends on many things... Some of them:
  • How far is the laptop from the router?
  • Which wireless technology is used? (802.11 a/b/g)
  • Which way are the signal travelling from the router to the laptop? Which and how many obstacles would there be?

The best thing right now, is to try it out Big Grin - That doesn't make any damage at all (hopefully Smile)
