The servers takes my local ip, 192.168.0.102:27015

Me and my friends wanted to start a server where we could play together, but we can't get it to work.

The problem is that the server takes the IP that i get from the router (Not a computer technician, but i think this is what happens :S); but that IP ofcourse only works for me.

I read the thread at http://forums.srcds.com/viewtopic/13693, he had the same problem, but i don't get how he solved it. Maybe a screenshot of how to do: "Did you add +ip <local ip> to your startup line?" would help me.

Still can't get it to work.

The game we play is GMOD 10, and my properties is "C:\HLServer\orangebox\srcds.exe -game garrysmod +ip 86.52.177.18 -port 27015"

When i try to laund the server after configuring number of players and that stuff it shows the message:
"Couldn't allocate any server IP port"

It will ALWAYS use your local IP. You need to set up port forwarding so that people con connect via your external IP address.

I have tried forwarding, but i just couln't get it to work, so i enabled DMZ, and still no succes.

Just to make it clear, is my server window supposed to show that the server IP is my local IP, 192.168.0.102?

Yes. The server can only obtain an IP address that is actually has access to. Your computer has 192.168.0.102. Your ROUTER has 86.52.177.18. In order for people to be able to connect via your external IP, your router need to forward the ports to your local IP.

When you've done Port Forwarding (remember to forward them to the right ip), start your server and type status in console, pick your external IP and share it with friends.

If there is no [external xxx] string try to join you server and type it in your client.

I did not read the thread.

Open port 27015 (if u run it on that port, else open other)
make sure you have sv_lan 0, and then go to whatsmyip.org
copy that ip and paste in the "add a server" under favorites tab.
then press find games..
it should be there now
