Hi,
Ok here is my dilemma. I can host a srcds server on my laptop at college, just fine when connected to the ethernet port. But when I bring it home, and connect directly to the modem, using the same laptop, I cannot host. The server says not responding, to my friends online. My ISP where I can't host is Quest, and I have a Model # GT701 R modem. I was thinking that the modem is causing the problem, so I even DMZ'ed my laptop's IP, and that still didn't work. According to Quest's TOS, you can host servers, as long as they are not illegal file hosting, etc. So does anyone know why I can't host at home, with Quest internet? Oh yeh, forgot to add.......even when I am directly connected to the modem, it gives me a weird local ip like 192.168.0.4.
Thanks in advanced,
Nathan
