Do you buy servers or game servers?

Question
I would just like to know how many of you buy game servers (per slot price, like gameservers.com) or dedicated/virtual private servers (one price per month and you manage it).

I'm starting a server hosting business and would just like to know if I should advertise toward the game server admin market.

Also, if you don't mind, it would be nice if you could post the price you're paying for either.

Thanks gang,
Liam

I'm currently renting by slot but I will be moving soon to dedicated hosting soon.

Honestly. a VPS and a dedicated are quite different. I doubt anyone here actually rents a VPS for a server. At least one that requires a lot. Most people have dedi's unless they are cheap.

If i can i would always get a box, no doubt. When time comes for cheap 1000FPS servers, i will rent.

True, a VPS wouldnt be able to hold out a srcds server, perhaps a small hlds server if you get lucky with the node though.
Yeah I use my own box.

Depending on the VPS server, you can hold a decent srcds server. 100tick at 256FPS. Resource management is going to be a hassle, i ran 100 tick 500 fps private for fun when i had spare money on it, with MYSql running on it at the same time. It was okay, but I would not recommend it at all.
