Suggestion for Big Commercial Pit
#1
I think that we should limit who can use the Big Commercial Pit. I believe legitimate companies ( Ones who pay taxes in their country of business ) should have access to this section. Rather ones controlled by little children who have no respect for the business atmosphere.

Eh, probably something that's not important or anything, It would just keep the crappy non legit companies out.

And how would you go about proving "age" and "legitimate" business?

Secretary of State Business / Corp search..

Such as:
http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search.aspx
https://www.corporations.state.pa.us/corp/soskb/csearch.asp?corpsNav=|
https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/csearch.asp

which in my case results in: https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?2914492
And in your case: https://www.corporations.state.pa.us/corp/soskb/Corp.asp?2748126

Just being filed should be enough...

The Commercial Pit was never meant for GSP advertising in the first place. It was supposed to be used for advertising clans and servers made by the users who inhabit the forums. Most clans do not have a business license or proof of anything other than having a website.

If it was meant for clans and stuff, you should split it in 2.

What exactly would be the benefit from doing that?

Clans a communities can advertise them selves and keep it out of the same topic as commercial spam?

Also would help remove some of the illegitimate companies from our boards and keep people from getting screwed over by them.

I have to agree. I am sure everyone here and possibly future people would like legitiment companies, and not fakes ran by little boys/girls.

I agree, but this would be hard to monitor especially with countries with more than one business register. AU has this part down, we are awesome.

Maybe if we just required the commercial posters to post a link to their controlling company within their posts. So it's the companies responsibility to find their proof of legal existence within their country.

I don't see many illegitimate companies that aren't American based anyway Toungue
I'm not sure how AU, or the UK handles their corporations and such.

My suggestion would be: completely remove it, as it appartently does more harm than good and I don't give a cake about that forum.

I agree. People come to this forum for help with their own servers, not to buy servers.
