Sirtiger this is the first tiem i wan to make a server but i cant find the hldsupdatetool all download mirror for hldsupdatetool nid to register so can u giv the link for dlsupdatetools download and the exact steps ...plz

Ty but i got a problem when i double click the hldsupdatetool it juz appear one cmd window for 1 sec and disappear

read the readme that comes with it, you ahve to supply commands,

you can also find every detail about it in the guide on planet half life, click the link in my post above. just replace the game name with the one for DoD. (which can be found in the hldsupdatetool readme)

kk thx now theres another problem when i start the server i asked my fren to join but they cant join only i can join how to solve this problem??

look at the guide for portforwarding (if you ahve a router) and make sure firewalls and anit-virus utilities aren't blocking the program

I checked my firewall i allowed it but there still portforwarding .... do u noe any forum which have this topic i go sum forum they onli ask but no1 gives answer on how to portforward

look up your router and it should provide you with enough info on how to forward ports.

thank u for ur help but now the problem is to hsave sum1 go to the server haiz but my oen and onli fren which can go is not around btw the server ip is 192.168.1.137:27015

that's your internal IP, your friends or anyone on the internet can't join that one.
The IP to give to your friends will be at this website:
http://www.whatismyip.com

yeah my fren can join my server but they say its laggy, why?
r all lan ip the same?
And By the way do u noe how to install AMX mod im quite confused by the instrustions they giv in the web, they say "c:\hlserver.......addons\metamod\ ...... but my files inside doesnt have addons the file

well lag is most probably your connection how fast is it? (upload) and how many players are you running?

I believe AMX mod is for Half Life 1, not Source so it won't work.
anyway, the addons folder has to be created yourself..

and please! just read the manual, I'm just telling you over and over again what's written in the manuals!

i read the manuals for the amxmod and it tell me change the name of the thign to sum name whihc have "\" den the i reanme the thing into the new name the manual told me it says the name cant consist of "\" "/" and sum more i look at one amxmod setting up page it told me go games den go porperties of the cs and type this -dir den sumthing into the launch options after that i c8 and a folder for addons and put the things inside (example. metamod) after i launch my server it says cant find API DLL i dunno wat it means my upload spd is 54kbps

Well sorry to say this but running a server for you won't do even if you get it online and working.
56kbps is way too low, you can't even host a game for 1 player with that.

you should at least get 256kbps upload so you can host for 4-6 players.

And again, AMX Mod is for Half Life 1, it will not run on the source dedicated server!
