Eh, I decided to try them out for all my websites and use them as my DNS servers... Right after the account was paid I had access to a cPanel that was great, had the DNS zone editing button that I so missed in my previous shared hosting packages. Soon after that on my next login my cPanel is loaded with advertising for their other services and crap that I didn't want to see, and my little DNZ zone edit button is gone and I contacted support. Next day support contacted me ( so much for their average 18 minute response time ) was probably as dumb as a rock and reading from a list of responses. Told me that I had to open a support ticket for each DNS edit I make. My last host gave me this bullshit...

And the numerous stories about peoples simple wordpress blogs / forums getting more than 100 hits a day and services being shut down and asked to upgrade to a $150 per month atom dedicated... I'm done

At least they offer refunds, funny... Right after I request a refund my connection gets a timeout error from any part of their site...

Do not use JustHost.Com, Just Sucks.

I've used them aswell, apart from the shitty ad's it was a good experience. I asked for a refund and they gave me a refund for the full service time i had (i was using it for 6 months, and i got the full amount back)

I do agree with their support team being loopy though, they gave me a refund yet they forgot to take down my site / cpanel xD

But I assume they refund just to keep the people that disliked their service happy.

That's such a dick move on their part. You pay for a service and they fill it with advertisements. Reminds me of Godaddy.com. And the stories of bloggers getting shut down? Man. I'm a web host admin myself and I know how inexpensive it is to host hundreds of clients. It's ridiculous how they can get away with this.

I've had lots of issues with web hosts. If you are new, they generally will help you out. if you've been with them a while, they don't care at all.

Yeah, I bought justhost hosting a while back for a few of my friends websites. I added two of the websites that I run (wordpress blogs) and apparently I was using too much of apache2/php? I was using 10% of the cpu. Which is unlikely due to the fact I was only getting maybe 100 hits a day. Anyways they suspended my account and were like hey you should spend a lot of money and get our dedicated box solution which is a 150$ atom (like what loopy said) and full gui accessibility. The gui is a nice touch but if you understand terminal (like me) then its a waste of money/resource's. I told them to unlock the account They did after a day and a half and then I used a lighter theme for blogs and tried that out. After a day of that it got suspended again. Once that happened I was like okay I need access to it to back up the data and then cancel my account. Apparently they didn't get the memo and wiped my account out with out letting my getting the latest backups.

After that I demanded a refund they refused again and I quit trying from there. It was only 7$ but I am firmly staying away from them as long as I can. Its partly my fault for not doing my homework and understanding how awful they are. You are better off hosting a Pentium 3 box from your own house with a crappy DSL connection rather than using justhost.

I found it pretty hard to get a reliable web host in the UK which would allow me to host websites with remote connections to my databases. In the end I went for a cheap VPS and I'm glad I did, very pleased with it.

The VPS is from gbservers.co.uk
