SRCDS w/ Ethernet Cable?

I finally got my SRCDS server working for CSS, and I ran into a problem. My server works fine in LAN, but never shows up anywhere in Internet. The problem has to be the fact I have an Ethernet cable to hook up to Internet. I've searched all of this forum (and the eventscipt.com forum) but I can't find a solution. PLEASE HELP!

BTW if it matters at all here's what's in my Run SRCDS properties (Target line):
C:\Users\Karl&Erik\Desktop\SRCDS\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 33 -port 27015 -maxplayers 15 +map de_dust2 -auto update

How is it even possible to portforward with a cable and not (wireless) router?

what connection are you running first of all would be great, how do you start your server? some server start using a batch file which u can edit and add you external ip address.

if you are new to this then you must learn you have an internal and an external ip address, one communicates inside your modem, the other connects outside.

alot of ISP's have dynamic IP addresses meaning you may have to edit some type of file regularly for people to connect. for example i have a batch file which has "+ip 1234.123.12.123" which may be my current IP address, but that could change to "+ip 3218.2131.43.312".

- those are examples and are certainly not the format of an ip address if you may have guessed, please provide more information, i would be happy to help

Well, I don't hook up to the internet by a router, I hook up using an ethernet cable ( so no it's not wireless connection ).
The way I start my server is I have a shortcut for srcds called "Run SRCDS" and the "Target" line in the Properties of Run SRCDS is this:
C:\Users\Karl&Erik\Desktop\SRCDS\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 -port 27015 -maxplayers 15 +map xc_overclimb -auto update

I took away the -ip command from my Target line because it caused many problems ( though I may have put in the wrong ip :\ )

The point is that your ethernet cable is plugged into SOMETHING. No ISP just gives you a cord that plugs directly into the internet (not even possible).

Please give us a detailed explanation of your home network. Also give us your Local IP address (in windows type in: ipconfig /all) and your External IP (http://whatismyip.org/).

Mkay I think my local ip (My IPv4 address?) is: 192.168.1.103
External: 75.135.142.63
I just don't know what my cable is plugged into!!!
I'll look and try to find out but I might not be able to.

OK, I looked, and there is a white cable coming down from the ceiling (which has to be it) going directly into the back of my Tower.
I have a screenshot of my connectivity proccess, how can I show it?

Yes, now find out what's on the other end of that white cable and who manages the device that it's into.

Just a little FYI:
Internet => Outside, World Wide Web
Ethernet/Intranet => Inside, Local Area Network

You can show the connectivity processes but it won't be of any use really

Your router can probably be accessed via 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100
From there you can log in and do port forwarding.

Since you clearly do not manage your own internet, talk to your parents or who even takes care of your house and work with them.

Open command prompt
start -> run -> type cmd

(Vista and 7 )
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run -> type cmd

Then when the command prompt is open, type ipconfig.
Then find the IP address of your default gateway most cases it will be 192.168.x.x but sometimes can be 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x You can then type that IP address into your internet browser to access your routers web gui... Most of the time the login and password is default which can be any of the following combinations:
admin admin
admin password
administrator password
admin 1234
administrator 1234
administrator administrator
admin default
administrator default
Somtimes the password is the serial number off your router as well...

IF all this is difficult or overwhelming, you could always just get a little money together from some friends and such and just rent a server from a company

hey 123erik, sorry i havent replied, im glad you have posted this info, now, your ethernet cable must be plugged into a modem, type your internal ip, which you said you believe is 192.168.1.103, and type that into your web browser, there should be a dialogue box asking for a username and password, try "admin" for both, if that doesnt work refer to your manual or google your modem, you may have to look up info on how to get to you port forwarding page but you must forward the following;

27020 to 27039 TCP
1200 to 1200 UDP
27000 to 27015 UDP

i believe those are the necessary to accept incoming requests...

now add your external which you said was "75.135.142.63" and add
+ip 75.135.142.63 to your command line, tell me how you went!

ooh, one other thing is i recommend going to "whatismyip.org" before you add your IP to command line as it may have changed.

The easiest port range to open is 27000-27040 UDP/TCP.
