Surf DM Lag
#1
Server OS: Windows Server 2003
Processor: Intel W3520 i7, 4 Cores/4 Threads 2.66 GHz
Ram: 12 GB
Game(s): CS:S Surf (44 slots), tickrate drops past 24~
Start Up Command: -console -game cstrike -tickrate 66 -maxplayers 44 +fps_max 300 -ip xx.xxx.xx.xxx -port 27016 +map surf_10x_reloaded
Admin Mods: SourceMod, Stripper:Source, CS:S DM

Tickrate drops after 24ish people, and at 32 it gets to around 30-40, making it hard to kill people.

Any help is appreciated.

DM is a very resource intensive mod. Are you playing on the same computer as the server is hosted off? What is your internet connection like? What are the rates you are using? Also, I would use an fps of 500ish. It will run better.

No this is a dedicated server, hosted in New York. Rates are 66tick (min 30 cmd, 20 update), fps is at 500 atm. I have removed bodies, item drops, increased spawn time, still very low tickrate.

Try it without boosting the FPS, surf servers have a lot of fast moving physics (player models), SRCDS isn't that great with a lot of physics moving at high speed and certainly not when high FPS Smile

So try to limit the FPS to 100 and lowering the tickrate to 33 should help a lot too.

Just lowering the FPS to 128 should work fine for you, it will use a lot less processor and will improve tickrate...
