Hello, I have been trying for quite some time now to achieve 1000 fps on a Counter-Strike Source server. I have changed from Windows Server 2003 to 2008 because 1000 isent possible on 2003. I am currently working on starting my own gsp and run this server off a dedicated machine with duel quad core cpus, and 8gb of ram. My tickrate is running perfectly stable at 101. But Fps is a diffrent story. I set my fps in the command line and the server.cfg and when I check the rcon stats im only geting about 510 I have also tried fps_max 0 still the same [510]. I have also enabled the bios f setting that [I cant remember the name of]to achieve 1000fps. So please if any one could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
PS.
Server.cfg-
//Bandwidth Settings
sv_maxupdaterate 101
sv_minupdaterate 100
sv_maxcmdrate 101
sv_mincmdrate 100
sv_maxrate 30000
sv_minrate 25000
fps_max 1000
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5
Command Line-
-game cstrike -console +ip %serverip% -port %serverport% +maxplayers %slots% -autoupdate +fps_max 1000 -tickrate 101 +exec server.cfg +map de_aztec

With Server 2008 you have to enable HPET/High Precision Media Timer in the BIOS.
Once you've gott hat set, you should hit 1000fps with no issues.

Thanks for the quick respond. I believe that is enabled by default on my box. But ill call my host to check things out. Is there any other way besides that bios setting? Also what if the setting isent there? Or is it default on server boxes?

If the setting isn't there, you won't be able to run over 512FPS.

510, that number sounds familiar... I had a problem like this before, and I can't remember the solution. (-_-)
Its odd because normally it would cap at 512... on XP / 2003.

I only had one server that had the same problem, except the max I could hit was 820fps. HPET was enabled, os was Server 2008, and the fps booster. Never figured it out, so I sold the box (I owned it), and built a new one, problem solved.

No, we only had quad-core and dual quads, it was a quad configuration, I forgot what quad it was.
