why is it limiting that the max of it 64 (the higest i can change it to) i need to change it higer for the downloads to go faster

To get faster download speeds, you'll need to setup a fast download site.

Once you have the files uploaded to this site (Be sure to keep the same file structure) then in your server.cfg add in the following

sv_downloadurl "%website address here%"

So if your website was http://www.Killklli.com, and you're hosting a Counter-Strike game, then you would want to do something like the following

http://www.Killklli.com/cstrike/

When I mention to keep the same file structure, that would mean that your sites file structure would mirror the game servers file structure as such

http://www.Killklli.com/cstrike/sounds
http://www.Killklli.com/cstrike/models

no the thing is i already have one and have been useing it this is the first server ive run into with this problem the default is 16 so i changed it to a higher number stayed 16 so i typed "net_maxfilesize" and it gave me min 1 max 64 why cant i go higher i need it higher

Add it to the server.cfg or startupline and it works.

Also net_maxfilesize has nothing to do with downloadspeeds, it's only for allowing people to download bigger files from the server.

rate changes the download speeds, but even then when you set rate to some super high number it wont do much.

rate tells the server how much data to send to the client.

it was already in there and not changeing the max filesize at all if i go higher than 64 it wont work and it will go back to 16

and should i change the rates to make the download go faster beacuse i have the webhost? if yes what to what

Well there really isn't a good way to get your download speed above 30KB/s unless you use fast downloads ( http redirects )

If you're using a dedicated server you can install an http server on it as well and redirect downloads to the same server via http.
If you're renting from a provider contact your provider about fast download services if they are offered and how much they would cost.

no i do have a fast download ive had it a long time with unlimted bandwith and space

Then your file downloads should be directed to your fast downloads. It appears to be setup correctly, so there is no speeding up your fast downloads... Fast downloads are determined by your company.

well they should be going alot faster in all my other servers they go real faster than this but in this one it goes really slow

Well it maxed out my connection at 300KBps.

If it's slow it means the download server simply has a speedlimit.
