Odd, make sure you set your RDP setting to low, that way it uses the least amount of bandwidth possible.

Also because it needs to use power on sending the signal, it can be quite bad if you got multiple srcds running on the same RDP Desktop.

I never notice anymore than 1% CPU usage when RDP'd to a clean dedicated.

I had a few issues with it at one point, but we where running +8 srcds on the server at once.

Start -> Run
Type mstsc
When the box opens, click on Options.
Click tabs Display and Experience, and set them to lower settings.
This is for Windows 7 / Vista, It may be similar for XP.
