when someone connects, how do i add a fancy welcome screen instead of just text? can i use html or what?

You would need to edit the motd.html or motd.txt file. You can use basic HTML in these files.

You can also put a URL in the motd.txt to have it open that webpage in the motd area.

I think the URL thing only works in orangebox.

It should work in the normal source engine too, if it doesn't just add a meta redirect

The only game I haven't been able to use a URL for is Garry's Mod. But the Meta Redirect as Drocona said works fine in Gmod.
